To help the medical staff that works intensively to cure the population, the Cronenbourg CNRS Campus, including our unit, has collected all the available gloves, masks and labcoats. As a result, 5 pallets were offered to the Hopitals in Strasbourg.
Due to the pandemia that Europe is facing, our research lab has to stop its experimental activities. However, we continue to work from home and we wish you all to stay safe and healthy. #stayathome
In 2015 ChemPubSoc Europe started its Fellows Program to honor those who supported the joint publishing activities of their national chemical societies fostering the European spirit in science in a very special way. Their belief in scientific excellence and publishing ethics is the foundation on which the success of ChemPubSoc Europe is built. 2020 marks 25 years since the birth of Chemistry A European Journal. To date 16 European Societies together with the publisher Wiley-VCH have developed a program of 16 journals that serve the needs of chemists around the world; more than 9 000 articles, ca. 250 000 citations and ca. 13.5 million Full Text Downloads were recorded in 2019 alone. A new legacy has been created.

The Société Philomathique de Paris is a high-level, multidisciplinary scientific and philosophical society. One becomes a member by cooptation, then by substitution vote, because the number of its members is limited. To become a member is regarded as a great honor.

Morgan Donnard from the COHA team has been nominated National Representative at the IUPAC (Organic and Biomolecular Division). Congratulations!!!
IUPAC’s scientific activities are lead by its Divisions, each representing the branch of chemistry indicated by its Divisional title, and who are ultimately responsible to the IUPAC Bureau. Each Division is administered by a Division Committee consisting of Titular Members, Associate Members, and National Representatives having the requisite expertise. The Divisions serve as the catalyst for scientific exchange, facilitating international discussion and collaboration in order to address problems and develop recommendations on nomenclature, symbols, units, terminology, and conventions in the scientific field for which they are specifically responsible.
On Tuesday 7 January, the 15 Interdisciplinary Thematic Institutes (ITIs) selected following an evaluation process were unveiled by Michel Deneken, President of the University of Strasbourg. The event was attended by Antoine Petit, President and CEO of the CNRS, and Gilles Bloch, President and CEO of Inserm. The LIMA is honored to be involved in 2 of these institutes : Chemistry of Complex Systems (CSC) & Hierarchical and Functional Materials (HiFunMat). Dr. Joanna Wencel-Delord from LIMA (SynCat) is one of the deputy coordinator of the HiFunMat ITI.
