This recognition highlights the originality and bold potential of his research in organic chemistry and more specifically in radical domino reactions for the synthesis of complex molecules.

EIC pathfinder grant from European Innovation Council awarded to Elisabeth Davioud-Charvet & Mourad Elhabiri for the FeROS project

Congratulations to our colleagues Elisabeth Davioud-Charvet & Mourad Elhabiri who have been recently awarded one of the highly prestigious and ultra competitive EIC Pathfinder grants from the European Research Council (ERC) for their ambitious project FeROS (Prodrugs oF antiparasitic RedOx-active compoundS ). The Pathfinder programme supports visionary ideas for radically new technologies. It promotes high-risk/high-gain, interdisciplinary collaborations focused on early-stage technology development (TRL 1–3), up to proof of concept.

Supramolecular Chemistry Days co-organized by LIMA (Iwona Nierengarten) at ECPM Strasbourg

On May 22 and 23, 2025, the third edition of the Journées de Chimie Supramoléculaire (JCS 2025), as part of the scientific activity of the Supramolecular Chemistry Group (Supr@SCF), took place at the ECPM in Strasbourg. It brought together 172 chemists sharing an interest for the various aspects of supramolecular chemistry, coming not only from France but also from Germany, Switzerland, Spain and England. The rich scientific program included 4 plenary lectures, 12 oral presentations and15 flash communications. Scientific discussions and sharing continued during a poster session. This very convivial moment was accompanied by a tasting of local wines and an Alsatian specialty, tarte flambée.

The high participation and contribution, especially from young scientists and PhD students, demonstrated the growing interest for supramolecular chemistry, which is a highly interdisciplinary research area open to all scientists.

Private companies and academic institutions, including LIMA, are warmly acknowledged for their financial support.

CMM team honoured with two covers of the prestigious Chemistry Europe journal

The Molecular Materials Chemistry team has been featured twice this year on the cover of Chemistry Europe magazine. The work highlighted focuses on the mechanochemical synthesis of pillarene-based rotaxanes in one case and the development of pH-controlled molecular shuttles in the other. Congratulations!

LIMA day 2025

As every year, LIMA gathered for its unity day at the Mulhouse site. It was a rich scientific day with numerous oral and poster presentations by our students. We also had the pleasure of listening to Clotilde Policar from ENS, who gave us a lecture on metal ions in biology.

Le LIMA vient d'acquérir un spectromètre compact à bas champ 80 MHz multi noyaux et équipé du kit d'analyse en flux continu. Ce nouvel appareil va permettre des avancées significatives dans l'optimisation de réactions en flux et dans la mesure de cinétiques complexes de milieux sensibles.

le LIMA a été au coeur d'une soirée grand public autours des PFAS organisée par le collectif Schlouk de Sciences et animée par Irène Arrata. L'évènement a débuté par une présentation du Dr Frederic Leroux (CNRS Alsace, directeur du LIMA et coordinateur du réseau français du Fluor) afin de contextualiser les PFAS en abordant leur nature et leurs applications stratégiques (santé, énergie, transports) mais également en décryptant les inquiétudes environnementales et de santé publique qu'elles suscitent. En deuxième partie de soirée, une table ronde, associant également le Dr Morgan Donnard (CNRS Alsace, chercheur au LIMA), à permis de répondre aux très nombreuses questions du public. Un évènement particulièrement apprécié des deux cotés de la scène!!!
Un grand merci à Schlouk de Sciences, en particulier Irène Arrata, pour cette invitation ainsi que Le Shadok et les gérants du bar italien Taglio pour avoir accueilli cet évènement dans une atmosphère plus que conviviale!!

The prestigious Charles Dhéré Prize was awarded to Frédéric Leroux on 15 October 2024 at a solemn ceremony held under the "Grande Coupole" of the Institut de France.
